Two Things Are Infinite The Universe And Human

“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”

How ridiculous and how strange to be surprised at anything which happens in life.

“For, after all, how do we know that two and two make four? Or that the force of gravity works? Or that the past is unchangeable? If both the past and the external world exist only in the mind, and if the mind itself is controllable – what then?”

The decisive question for man is: Is he related to something infinite or not?

Now he has departed from this strange world a little ahead of me. That means nothing. People like us, who believe in physics, know that the distinction between past, present, and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion.

I can see how it might be possible for a man to look down upon the earth and be an atheist, but I cannot conceive how a man could look up into the heavens and say there is no God.
